The Trumpets is a sculptural installation of four large sculptural forms. Each rendered in a different material - one of laminated spruce, one of steel, one of polycarbonate, and one of ferro-concrete - the forms are hooked to audio equipment that records and transmits sound. A continuous live sample - taken from the gallery setting - is displaced in both time and space. What is recorded by one trumpet will echo out of another after a short delay.
